Hosts and URLs

Every ImaraISP address you or your subscribers will use, and what each one is for

ImaraISP uses a handful of addresses. Each one does a single job. This page lists them so you know which address to give a subscriber, which one to paste into a payment provider, and which one to send a new staff member to.

In the examples below, {slug} is your ISP's short name in ImaraISP (for example coastlink). It is lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only, 3 to 31 characters.

The addresses

AddressWho uses itWhat it is for
app.imaraisp.keStaffThe sign-in page and the workspace chooser. After sign-in you are sent to your own workspace.
app.imaraisp.ke/t/{slug}StaffThe admin app for one workspace. Every ISP, reseller and branch has its own path under the one app address.
portal.imaraisp.ke/{slug}SubscribersYour captive portal. Hotspot users land here to buy a plan, redeem a voucher, or sign in.
portal.imaraisp.ke/{slug}/mySubscribersThe subscriber account area: status, expiry, renew, trusted device.
portal.imaraisp.ke/{slug}/liteSubscribersThe "Basic version" of the portal for very old phones and browsers. Linked from the portal footer.
ipn.imaraisp.ke/{slug}/{provider}/{token}Payment providersThe callback address your payment providers post to when money arrives. See below.

Admin addresses

Each workspace gets its own path, so app.imaraisp.ke/t/coastlink and app.imaraisp.ke/t/kilifi-branch are two different workspaces. If you belong to more than one, the workspace chooser at app.imaraisp.ke lists them all. An old bookmark of the form coastlink.app.imaraisp.ke/customers still works: it is redirected to app.imaraisp.ke/t/coastlink/customers.

The payment callback address

ipn.imaraisp.ke/{slug}/{provider}/{token} is the URL you register with a payment provider so it can tell ImaraISP about a payment. The provider segment names the provider. For example, for M-Pesa Daraja it is momoke (Daraja refuses callback addresses that contain its own brand name), so a full address looks like https://ipn.imaraisp.ke/coastlink/momoke/9f2c…e41a. Copy it from Settings, Payment providers rather than typing it.

Two things to know:

  • The token identifies your ISP. ImaraISP works out which ISP the money belongs to from the address, never from the message, so a callback sent to the wrong address cannot land in another ISP's books.
  • The full address appears in Settings, Payment providers, after you save the provider, under "Paste this URL into the provider as the Confirmation and Callback URL". Copy it from there; do not type it by hand. The same panel shows "Last callback received" once the provider has posted to it.

See Payment providers for where the address appears in the admin app and Payment states for what happens after a callback arrives.

Portal addresses

Your routers send hotspot users to portal.imaraisp.ke/{slug}. The router itself never hosts the portal; its login page is a short redirect to this address.

  • /{slug} is the purchase flow: plans, payment, voucher, phone sign-in.
  • /{slug}/my is the account area a subscriber reaches after signing in with a phone code. A trusted device skips the code for 90 days.
  • /{slug}/lite is the basic version. A subscriber who picks "Basic version" in the footer is remembered for 30 days on that device.
  • /{slug}/status is where a router sends a user who is already online, so they can see time left.

See The captive portal for the screens.
